In pitch black, under a thick downfall of snow and within sight of Serb snipers, the refugees would walk over 20 kilometers, arriving at the tented camp at dawn. Some would rest during the day, collect rice and other foodstuffs, then walk back to Gorazde as night fell. Others would carry on walking down the valley and on to the next town. © Sky News |
